From the Journal of Dr. Myers:
"“My last mission to Kenya with Children’s HeartLink was a very special one. My wife, Dahri, came along as a volunteer. After more than 18 years of support during my training and early years as a surgeon, she had the opportunity to see first hand why pediatric heart surgery is so import a n t and special to me. She cared for the Kenyan children both during and after surgery and had the opportunity to bond with both the patients and their families.
We have always been struck by the tremendous need in the world for those who have been given so much to reach out and help those without. This perception was strengthened by our time together in Africa. The chance to work with Children’s He a rtLink gives us the opportunity to be a part of a larger world community and build programs that will help the lives of children who would otherwise have no hope.”
Dr. Myers favorite quote:
"You will find, as you look back on your life, that the moments that stand out are the moments when you have done things for others.”-Henry Drummond
