Dr. Demetre Nicoloff Memorial Fund
"The most important thing we can do is to train surgeons, nurses and medical staff to take care of children when we leave. We're only there a short time. It's what happens after that's important. Our job is to help them better understand heart disease and ways to effectively treat the many children needing help."
- Dr. Demetre Nicoloff, after volunteering on a Children's HeartLink medical training mission in China.
Dear Friends,
Since my father passed away in 2003, the outpouring of kindness from friends, colleagues and patients has been a source of strength for my family. The letters, phone calls and personal condolences we receive demonstrate the tremendous impact his life had on thousands of others.
My family believes that his legacy of teaching, innovating and healing can live on through Children's HeartLink. The Dr. Demetre Nicoloff Memorial Fund was establish at Children's HeartLink to help train surgeons, physicians, and nurses throughout the developing world to better care for their patients with heart disease, and helps to support the cost of cardiac treatment for hundreds of children who otherewise would never receive the care they need.
Please consider making a contribution to the Dr. Demetre Nicoloff Memorial Fund of Children's HeartLink, and continue the legacy of a man - my father - who contributed so much to his profession, his community and to children around the world.
With gratitude,
Stephanie Nicoloff Schoening
